Secondly, the rent freeze has been extended from 1st December 2020 to 10th July 2021 due to the second hit by COVD-19.
According to Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Selina Robinson “We know many renters are still facing income loss and even the slightest increase in rent could be extremely challenging. For that reason, we are extending the freeze on rent increases to provide more security for renters during the pandemic.”
